Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most tender seasons. Newborn sessions are designed to gently capture this fleeting stage — tiny fingers, curled toes, soft expressions — in a calm, baby-led environment.
Because newborns change so quickly, timing matters, especially for posed imagery.
🌱 When Is the Best Time for a Newborn Session?
The ideal window for newborn photography is between 5–14 days old, with 7–10 days being the sweet spot for posed images.
During this time, babies:
-
Sleep more deeply
-
Naturally curl into womb-like positions
-
Are more comfortable being gently repositioned
-
Tend to settle more easily between poses
For this reason, we recommend pre-booking your newborn session while you’re still pregnant. Once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize the exact date based on how you’re both feeling.
🍼 What If My Baby Is Older Than 2 Weeks?
That’s completely okay — your session will simply look a little different.
As babies grow:
-
They become more alert
-
Stretch out more
-
May prefer being wrapped or held
-
Are more expressive and interactive
Older newborn sessions focus more on:
-
Wrapped poses
-
Awake eye contact
-
Natural movements
-
Parent connection and bonding
Every stage is beautiful — we tailor the session to your baby, not the other way around.
